Tesla is known for making expensive, luxurious electric cars. But which one is the priciest? Here’s a look into the pricing and specs of Tesla’s most expensive vehicle: the Model X.
to hit the market was the Tesla Roadster, a very expensive sports car that few people got their hands on. Later on, Tesla made cars like the Model 3 and the Model Y, two of the
Don’t get confused, though. Tesla still has some seriously expensive cars in its lineup, and here's a look at the most expensive Tesla right now, the Model X.
The Tesla Model X is the most expensive Tesla right now
, the Model X is currently the most expensive Tesla that's available right now. It starts at about $106,000, and that's without any options or upgrades. At that price tag, the Model X is about $60,000 more expensive than the Model 3, and it's $46,000 more expensive than the Model Y.
The Model X is even more expensive if owners chose the Plaid trim. That trim costs about $128,000, and it significantly increases the Model X's performance capabilities.

The Model X has two electric motors, and combined, they produce about 670 horsepower. Anyone who chooses the Plaid trim, however, gets three motors and 1,020 horsepower instead.
The standard Model X can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, and the Plaid trim pushes that number down to 2.5 seconds. In terms of range, the standard Model X gets about 351 miles, while the Plaid trim gets 335 miles.
The Model X has a lot of issues, though. According to
, it actually has a longer list of cons than it does pros. Some of those problems include the Model X having a stiff ride, distracting controls, and no compatibility with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
The biggest issue with the Model X, though, has to do with its reliability. It only got a 1 out of 5 in that regard, and it sank the Model X's overall score. Its overall score is 41 out of 100, which is near the bottom in the segment. Due to that, the Model X also scored poorly in terms of its value rating, as it only has a 30 out of 100 there.
The Model X isn't the only expensive Tesla

The only Tesla on the market right now that's even close to the Model X's price tag is the Model S. The Model S starts at $96,000, and it also has the Plaid trim option. In fact, the Model S Plaid trim costs $131,000, which is slightly more expensive than the Model X Plaid.
However, there will be a Tesla that'll cost even more than that. The 2023 Tesla Roadster is the second generation of the Tesla that started it all. The new Roadster should be significantly more powerful than the other Teslas on the market, and more expensive too.
Tesla hasn't released the pricing details of the 2023 Roadster just yet. Currently, it's estimated that it'll start at around $200,000. If Tesla offers a high-performance trim on it, then it'll cost even more than that.
