Are CV joints covered under a Kia warranty?

The CV joints on my Kia are shot and I need to get them replaced. I’m still under warranty but have no idea if it covers CV joints. Does a Kia warranty cover CV joints?

Sorry to hear about your Kia! CV joints are covered under a Kia warranty’s powertrain coverage. The warranty covers all internal parts of:
  • The transmission
  • The driveshafts
  • The torque converter
  • The front hubs
  • The universal joints
  • The bearings
  • The gaskets
  • The seals
Concerning the axles, the warranty offers protection for:
  • CV joints
  • The axle shafts
  • The seals
  • The wheel bearings
  • The hub
Even if you’re unsure what a powertrain is (and most people are), you need to recognize that it’s vital to a car’s performance and costly to repair. Fortunately, most vehicles come with powertrain warranties or offer coverage for a price. If you’re able to spring for it, it’s probably a worthwhile investment.
When car shopping, a good tip is to set a budget specific to warranties and buy as much protection as you can afford.
