Can I get a commercial driver's license if I have a SR-22?

"I have two more years until my SR-22 term ends. Should I wait until then to get the CDL or can I get it now?"

“It may depend on the reason you were required to get your
SR-22 auto insurance
. For example, if you have it because of a DUI, you may be unable to apply for a CDL until your term expires, but if you got it for other reasons, you may still be eligible (at least for the test), depending on the state DMV.
SR-22s don’t last forever, so the worst you may have to do is wait it out.”
