Can you buy a NIO electric car in America?
I’ve been reading about electric cars lately and am impressed with everything I’ve seen from Chinese EV automaker NIO. Is it possible to test drive or buy a NIO electric car in the U.S.?

Researching a new
electric car
is one of the best steps you can take as a consumer, so good on you for doing the work! While it is not yet possible to buy NIO cars in the U.S., the company announced plans to expand services to 25 new countries by 2025, including the United States.For anyone unfamiliar with NIO, it is a Chinese electric car manufacturer founded in 2014 and is already available in Europe. They are actively laying the groundwork for competing in the American market.
The U.S. branch of NIO recently signed a 10-year lease on a building in San Jose, California. The 200,000 sq ft space is just two minutes from its current headquarters, and as of January 2022, the company was hiring for positions related to infrastructure and development.
While you can’t buy a NIO EV at the moment, being able to drive one of these popular Chinese cars in America may become a reality sooner than later.
