We just bought a brand new 2022 Mazda CX-9, and today I noticed a chip in my windshield. Does the Mazda warranty cover windshield repair or replacement?

Your Mazda factory warranty probably does not cover damage to your

windshield. If you have comprehensive car insurance coverage
, that should take care of it.Although your insurance will probably
cover your windshield’s damage
, you might have a warranty claim if you purchased Mazda’s optional Tire and Wheel Protection Platinum Plus Plan. This plan is not part of your standard warranty. But if you bought it, it includes coverage to repair or replace the following:
- Windshield repair
- Paintless dent repair
- Tire and wheel protection
- Key replacement
This warranty package might be preferable if you’d like to avoid an insurance deductible. Another option is to simply pay to repair or replace your windshield out of pocket if the cost is less than your deductible.
