How do I lower USAA car insurance?

My rates for my USAA policy increased after I renewed my policy. I was in a minor accident last year, but my car wasn't totaled. Can you tell me how to lower my USAA car insurance?

You may be able to lower your USAA premium costs by qualifying for discounts, increasing your premium, or enrolling in USAA’s telematics program.
First, contact your insurance rep to see if you qualify for any of the key policy discounts offered by USAA:
  • 10% family discount: Policyholders can get up to 10% off their policy if their parents are also USAA insurance members.
  • 10% for bundling: USAA homeowners or renters insurance policyholders can save 10% by adding auto insurance to their policy.
You can also try to qualify for some lesser discounts offered by USAA:
Another way to save on your USAA policy is to
increase your deductible
. This can lower your monthly premium, but it also means you’ll have to pay the high deductible in the event of a claim.
USAA drivers may also save by using the
SafePilot program
, which uses
telematics
and rewards save drivers with up to 30% off their premium.
