You can program your
Tesla Model 3
garage door opener very easily—just make sure you’ve already got the HomeLink system installed.The HomeLink Automatic Garage Opener can be installed as a retrofit in the Tesla Model 3.
HomeLink: Allows drivers to program and control up to three separate garage doors. If you don’t already have HomeLink installed, you can purchase it at the Tesla store and schedule an installation appointment through your Tesla app.
You cannot install HomeLink yourself.
If the HomeLink is installed, follow these steps to program your Tesla Model 3 garage door opener:
- Park your Tesla in front of the desired garage door.
- Touch the HomeLink icon on your touchscreen.
- Touch ‘Create HomeLink’ and choose a mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once you’re finished, touch ‘Save.’
Test the HomeLink button to make sure it works. If it opens your garage, your Tesla garage door opener is correctly programmed and ready to use.
