How many faults are you allowed on a driving test?
I’m going to be taking my driving test next month and I’m super nervous. I’ve been practicing but I’m still worried about making mistakes. How many faults can I make on my driving test and still pass?

Driving tests are really nerve-wracking and it’s normal to be nervous! Passing your driving test isn’t a clear-cut thing across the board—requirements to pass may differ between states, but generally speaking, you’re allowed 15 minor mistakes. One major or three of the same minor faults will result in a fail.
On a driving test, there are three types of faults:
- Serious fault: Has the potential to be dangerous
- Dangerous fault: Involves danger to anyone in the vehicle, the public, or property
- Driving fault: Not dangerous, but repeated faults (failing to signal, for example) can result in a fail
