A Crown Victoria transmission replacement costs between $1,600 to $2,900 for the part alone and an additional $500 to $1,200 for a mechanic’s labor. All added up; you’re paying $2,200 to $4,100.
These are some pretty big numbers. Before you panic about how you’ll afford it, make sure that replacing your transmission is necessary.
