How much does it cost to make a car a convertible?
What exactly would it cost me to make my car into a convertible? My wife and I have had the same car for years. I was thinking about having our's upgraded into a convertible, but only if it's cheap enough.

In general, convertible conversions cost anywhere from a mere $2,000 to a whopping $50,000!
Here are some of the biggest price-determining factors:
- Yourcar’s value: While less expensive makes and models typically cost less to convert, newer or luxury vehicles will be more expensive.
- Your car’s body: The top of a car is central in defining its integrity. Simply removing the top can be unsafe, so more work may be required for cars that aren’t readily made for these types of modifications.
- Your auto shop: Labor charges can vary significantly from shop to shop, depending on where you live. On top of that, converting a vehicle into a convertible isn’t a job that calls for cheap labor. Safe convertible conversions require a professional hand—so be prepared to pay high labor fees.
