How quickly does the Dodge Caliber SRT4 go from 0 to 60 miles per hour?

So my teenager just got their license and is chomping at the bit to buy a car. I saw a 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 in good shape for a great price, but I hear it's fast—how quickly does the Dodge Caliber SRT4 go from 0 to 60?

The Dodge Caliber is fast—with an inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and boasting 285 horsepower, the Caliber goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.9 seconds. Add to that 265 pound-feet of torque, a top speed of 155 miles per hour, plus the fact that it is heavy (at 3,233 pounds), the Caliber is a very fast car for a new driver.
The Caliber’s mass makes it both slow to accelerate and slow to stop, even if its brakes are solid. It also can experience significant body roll, and it’s not great on corners either, even if the steering is responsive. This is a fast, heavy car.
If you’re shocked at how fast the Caliber SRT4 is, you shouldn’t be—after all, SRT stands for Street Racing Technology, meaning the folks hanging around the Chrysler R&D lab obviously, one, have a need for speed, and two, were dead-set on stuffing as much power into the boxiest automobile they could get their hands on (mission accomplished on point number two).
Bottom line—the Dodge Caliber is fast, going 0 to 60 in just 5.9 seconds. Despite its rather drab exterior, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 is a powerful beast on the road, and probably not the best choice for a new driver (in case you were still wondering).
