What is a Ram Powertrain Warranty?
The factory warranty on my Ram truck expired a while back, but I’m having an engine issue, and my friend suggested having the dealership check it out because I’m probably still covered by a powertrain warranty. What’s a powertrain warranty for a Ram?

Your friend brought up a great point! A Ram Powertrain Warranty will cover mechanical malfunctions related to your engine, transmission, and wheel system for five years or 50,000 miles (100,000 miles for diesel engines), whichever you arrive at first.
The Limited Powertrain Warranty works in tandem with the Limited Basic Warranty. Both warranties begin at the original date of purchase, but the Limited Basic Warranty lasts for 36 months or 36,000 miles.
Be advised that the Powertrain Warranty will not cover mechanical issues that are caused by using the wrong fluids or failing to maintain the powertrain components properly. Any warranty-related repairs you need must be completed at a Ram or FCA dealership.
