What is BMW Dynamic Cruise Control?

I recently purchased a BMW M3 and the car has a feature called Dynamic Cruise Control. How does this differ from regular cruise control?

The
BMW
Dynamic Cruise Control feature is similar to standard cruise control but generally maintains a stable speed more easily than the average system, meaning it applies the brakes more diligently.
Cruise control—whether dynamic or regular—can be used to help you:
  • Prevent fatigue
  • Maintain reasonable speeds
  • Reduce fuel usage
That said, using cruise control does have a couple of drawbacks, the most notable being highway hypnosis. Without your speed to worry about, some drivers lose their focus and end up in an accident.
It should be noted that some BMW cars also come with a system called Active Cruise Control. This system is a little bit more advanced than Dynamic Cruise Control as it lets you set a distance you’d like to remain behind another vehicle.
