I’ve had my Audi A3 for over a decade. Unfortunately, my trusted mechanic sold his shop and I don’t quite trust the new owner. As a result, I’m going to change the oil myself—what type of oil do I need for a 2007 Audi A3 2.0T?

with SAE 5W-40. You also have another choice to make when it comes to which oil type to use: European motor oil specifically formulated for European cars or a high-mileage motor oil, especially if your car has more than 75,000 miles. Either way, your car should run smoothly; it’s just a matter of preference. You may want to try one and then the other to see which provides better performance—just remember that you need 4.9 quarts to complete an oil change.
