What is the average front end collision repair cost?

I was recently in a minor accident. I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth filing a claim to get insurance to help cover the cost of repairs or if I should just pay out of pocket. What is the average front end collision repair cost?

It can cost between $500 and $5,000 to repair damage from a front-end collision.
The price you pay will depend on the following:
  • The extent of damage: A minor dent will cost less than a drastic front-end crack.
  • The type of vehicle you drive: A small dent in the bumper on a
    Honda
Civic is far easier to repair than a crunched transmission on a
    BMW
    .
Keep in mind: It’s always a good idea to report an accident and
file a claim
with your car insurance company even if the repair cost is less than your deductible.
Finally, remember that you have a
limited window
to file a claim.
