What is the Honda HR-V electric parking brake system problem?
My HR-V’s parking light started flashing like a string of Christmas lights. After doing some research, I see it’s a problem with my electric parking brake. However, I can’t figure out how to actually address it! What is the electric parking brake system problem in the Honda HR-V?

isn’t known for electric parking brake system problems, so you’re likely better off letting a mechanic look at it to find the root cause. However, you can still try resetting the parking brake on your own.To reset the electronic parking brake in a Honda HR-V:
- Turn the HR-V on, keeping the car in Park and avoiding the brake pedal.
- Engage the parking brake and hold the parking brake switch until you hear a beeping sound.
- Release the parking brake switch then repeat the hold within three seconds. This time you should hear two beeps.
If the electric parking brake reset worked, the light should stop flashing and you should be good to drive!
