What is the 2006 Honda CRV oil type?

I just bought a used 2006 Honda CRV for my wife. It’s in decent cosmetic shape, but the previous owner said he wasn’t great about keeping maintenance records. As a result, I want to change the oil ASAP. What’s the oil type for a 2006 Honda CRV?

As long as you got a decent deal on your 2006
Honda CRV
, a lack of maintenance records isn’t the end of the world. Hopefully, nothing’s wrong with the engine or other components as a result. If you want to change the oil, the 2006 Honda CRV oil type is SAE 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil. You’ll also need 4.2 quarts of motor oil to complete the job.
While you shouldn’t have any issues finding 5W-20 motor oil, you can also use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 in a pinch. However, these oils don’t have the necessary additives that 5W-20 motor oil has, so make sure that you replace these motor oils with 5W-20 on the subsequent oil change.
